About C.V.A

Centurion Vocal Academy (CVA) is a singing school in Centurion where singing lessons are provided for students of all ages.  C.V.A. was founded in the year 2000, and built up a wealth of experience in instructing singing, representing the Eve Boswell Voice Production method.  In the singing classes we focus on correct vocal technique to develop the student’s maximum vocal performance and ability.  Coaching in “live performance” and “studio recording techniques” are also part of the training at our vocal academy. 

This singing method is presented by Damelin College (since 1998 -then Allenby Campus) and also at several Universities.  Candidates have the opportunity to enter for the Eve Boswell Vocal Examination and will receive the certificate according to the level of exam.  The students at CVA get public exposure by participating in talent competitions, eisteddfods and our annual concert and occasional audio recordings.  (See our vocal technique page )

More about the founder.  History and present…

The founder of Centurion Vocal Academy, Florrie Jansen van Rensburg has been a personal student and trainee teacher of the late Eve Boswell.   Florrie has 18 years teaching experience in vocal training and has been a performing and recording vocal artist for + 35 years.  She and her two sisters Celia (Zietsman) and Corli (le Roux) performed as the group  “TRIO”  in the 80’s, launched their first Afrikaans album in 1987 and was finalists in Johan Stemmet’s  television program “Debuut” in the same year. 

Among other performances they performed as the “Nel Trio” at the “Yes for goodwill” concert produced by Eve Boswell in 1993 where P J Powers was the guest artist and has also performed with Des & Dawn Lindburg at “Night of 100 Stars”  in Durban in 1994.  During September 2011 “The Nel Trio”  performed on  “Kruiskyk Harmonie”,  a ‘live’ performance  recorded on CD and DVD, produced by Clemens Mans from  KRUISKYK  Gospel Television Station.  The 3 sisters are in preparation for a brand new “Nel-Trio” cd recording.
